CY Young Days Festival

Our History:

Cy Young was born March 29, 1867 in Gilmore, Ohio, near Newcomerstown.  Being a farm boy he worked hard at his chores but tried to find time for baseball.  Farm work kept him strong all of his life, which in the off season and after his retirement, was spent in the Newcomerstown area.  There is a display of Cy Young memorabilia in the Temperance Tavern Museum located in Newcomerstown.

The Cy Young Days Festival is held each year at Newcomerstown, Ohio.

The festival honors Cy Young and the game he loved. We are a small festival in a small community but we are growing every year. In past years we have been honored to have Len Barker, Kevin Ritz, Rich Rollins, Gaylord Perry, Ferguson Jenkins, Dean Chance, Jim Perry, Vern Law, Bob Turley, Denny McLain, Mike McCormick and Vida Blue and Bret Saberhagen as our award winning guests.
