We are excited to announce our 6th annual ColtStrong 5K/1M Fun Run & Family Fun Zone, which will be held virtually or in-person at Centennial Terrace in Sylvania, OH! This family-friendly fun run is a great way to come together to provide HOPE for families fighting DIPG! For non-runners who want to join us please come and celebrate to cheer on the runners, and have fun in our Family Fun Zone with a DJ, local food trucks, games and face paint!
Register by end-of-day August 18th to be guaranteed a shirt!
For Virtual With Shirt participants, we will make every attempt to get your packet to you before the official event day of September 7th, but it cannot be guaranteed. Virtual Without Shirt participants will not receive a race packet.
All proceeds will go to the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation, whose mission is to inspire and fund game-changing research to discover effective treatments for pediatric brain cancer, with an emphasis on diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).
The ColtStrong Fun Run originated in 2019 after we lost our son Colt DelVerne to DIPG. Our family and friends came together to honor our sweet boy and raise money for DIPG research to give families HOPE. We are friends with the Carr family and became a Family Partner to join them in the fight with the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation.
This year we have joined forces locally with Sarah & Jeremy Carnes from team Emily’s Army. They honor their beautiful daughter Emily. Together we WILL find a cure for this awful cancer!
Brain cancer kills more kids than any other type, and DIPG is responsible for almost half of all pediatric brain cancer deaths. With nearly 0% survival rate and less than 1% of federal cancer research funding earmarked for all pediatric brain cancer, it’s no surprise that the standard of care has not changed in the six decades since Neil Armstrong’s daughter died of DIPG. But thanks to DIPG families and foundations like the ChadTough Defeat DIPG Foundation who have channeled our grief into an effort to fund game-changing research on DIPG, doctors have begun to discover break through treatments that are showing promise. They now believe that a cure will be found in our lifetime!
