Join Us For The 15th Annual Chagrin Documentary Film Festival October 1st-6th, 2024

The Chagrin Documentary Film Festival is dedicated to educating audiences and empowering talented filmmakers to tell their stories.  The Festival is a five-day celebration of the art of documentary film, at venues in and around the century village of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. This inspiring event draws audiences from all over Northeast Ohio, the US, and the world to experience documentary films and the compelling art and culture they highlight.

11:00 AM: The Fiery Fox - Chagrin Falls Intermediate School Theater

Filmed over a three year period, become immersed in a young Fiery Fox's journey in breathtaking wilderness. Orphaned and vulnerable, the fox must navigate its first winter alone, encountering diverse animals who become both friends and foes. A mesmerizing story revealed through the fox's eyes, viewers will witness the raw beauty and harsh realities of nature. This film invites reflection on the delicate balance of life in the wild and the enduring spirit of creatures who persevere against all odds. This is a journey you won't soon forget.

2:45pm: The European Dream - Chagrin Valley Little Theatre

Julius Klausner and Robert Graetz, German Jewish industrialists, defied the odds to build their economic empires from scratch. In 2016, a letter listing looted artworks from WWII brings their two grandchildren on a poignant journey to reclaim their lost art. Fritz Enderlein is an 88-year-old German lawyer who fought in the Wehrmacht and now works tirelessly to restore works of art stolen during the Holocaust to their rightful owners, decades after they were taken. Together, they navigate a complex web of bureaucracy, concealment, and denial as they delve deeper into the world of art.
