What happens to a neighborhood when the Bank starts foreclosing? A close knit community bands together to fight the land grab, but can they win against money-hungry developers?

A small waterfront community Southport CT, is the long-time home of first and second generation Italian, Irish and Jewish families. For years they've all held 'reasonable' mortgages with a cooperative bank manager. When their friend is 'invited' to retire, his replacement won't honor the arrangements and starts foreclosures. When the terrified community discovers the bank manager is working with a big-time developer to replace the neighborhood with a shopping mall, they develop a scheme to save their homes.

John Wolfson is Curator of Rare Books at the Globe Theatre in London where his play, The Inn at Lydda, was produced in the summer of 2016. His play, The Lives of Bosie, about Lord Alfred Douglas, won a Barrymore Award for the most distinguished play of the season in Philadelphia. Other plays of his have been produced at Playwrights Horizons and the O’Neill Theatre Foundation.
