We invite you to the German American Oktoberfest in Central Park, Rumsey Field, Summerstage, New York City. Please join us in this celebration of friendship, music, food, and drink at the biggest Oktoberfest festival in New York City.
Rich Traditions and Celebrations
The Oktoberfest tradition began over 200 years ago when Bavaria’s Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Terese of Saxony on October 12, 1810. The citizens of Munich were invited to attend the festivities held on the fields in front of the city gates to celebrate the royal event. This grew into a 16 day event.
Today, that celebration continues as Oktoberfest, the world’s largest Volksfest. Held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, and celebrated around the world.
