George Clooney, Robert Downey Jr. & David Strathairn star in this Oscar nominated historical drama, also directed by Clooney, examining one of the ugliest periods in American political history. Set during the early days of broadcast journalism, Good Night, and Good Luck chronicles the conflict between news pioneer Edward R. Murrow and Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee. With a desire to report the facts, Murrow, and his dedicated staff defy corporate and sponsorship pressures to examine the lies and scaremongering tactics perpetrated by McCarthy during his communist witch-hunts.
