Experience the breadth of human emotion in this evocative program conducted by Carlos Miguel Prieto. Indulge in the drama of Haydn’s intense and thrilling Passion Symphony before immersing yourself in the love-filled world of Pablo Neruda’s poetry with Peter Lieberson’s Neruda Songs, sung by rich-voiced mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges. Hear members of the Festival Orchestra in a new light in Ginastera’s electric Variaciones concertantes. Written in 1953, the work by the Argentine composer spotlights different musicians of the ensemble in each of the 12 variations.
