Duck and Red Octopus Short Funny Animation Festival
Ake Gallery
165 Main Street
Get ready for the Second Annual Duck and Red Octopus Short Funny Animation Festival on Sept. 27 and 28 in Cortland and Homer.
Last year’s festival was a huge success. The celebrity judges entertained and educated the sold-out crowds and talented filmmakers from around the world. The festival’s host – the world-renowned Ake Gallery – was filled with art from celebrated animators Peter Hannan (Creator of Nickelodeon’s “CatDog”), music from composers Martin Olson (from Disney’s Phineas and Ferb and Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time), and a hilarious performance from comedian and filmmaker Bobcat Goldthwait.
This year the Duck and Red Octopus Short Funny Animation Festival will be bigger and better starting on Friday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. with the opening reception followed by a special concert from SpongeBob himself, Tom Kenny and his 13-piece rock-N-soul band The Hi Seas at the Center for the Arts in Homer NY.
Currently the SpongeBob streaming movie, Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, is #1 and has been since the first weekend of August knocking Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher out of the top spot.
