If you want to learn an instrument for the first time, or continue studying your favorite piece of music with some of the city’s finest teachers, this is the place to do it!
Join us for a FREE 10-minute private instrument lesson, explore our group classes, and watch classical and jazz performances with adult students at our Lucy Moses School. Mingle with our faculty and fellow music lovers, and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks including beer and wine. Beginners are welcome!

PRIVATE LESSONS (10-minute slots)
If you'd like to improve your skills or learn a new instrument, now is the perfect time to start private lessons with our experienced faculty. All levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome.
Try out piano, violin, cello, guitar, flute, saxophone, clarinet, or voice and meet our faculty members in an introductory mini-lesson!

Dalcroze
Whether you're a seasoned performer, an educator, or a music student of any age, Dalcroze can help you feel and understand music in a whole new way. Dalcroze uses the body to develop a strong musical foundation and natural feel for music, exploring rhythm, pitch and harmony through creative movement and physical, vocal and instrumental improvisation. Ballet
Learn classical ballet technique in a class designed for adults of all skill levels, from novices to those who have years of dance experience.
Conscious Listening
This listening musical adventure with Steinway Artist Hsing-ay Hsu is guided listening in real-time. Participants learn to connecting more deeply with music, amplifying their joy by sharing with others, and finding new ways to extend listening to life and emotions.
Auditions & Placement Sessions
Sight-Singing Placement Session (Faculty: Liz Fleischer)
If you love to sing and want to join a choir, pursue solo work or just get a solid grounding in musicianship, these music-reading classes are a must. Using repertoire of all styles as a base, adult students progress rapidly, gaining a practical understanding of music theory and compositional techniques along the way.
Chamber Music Placement Sessions (15-minute slots)
Participants should prepare two contrasting excerpts for the placement session.
Join a chamber music ensemble this fall! Our experienced coaches give you the guidance you need for intensive study of the chamber music repertoire. Ensembles comprise various combinations of instruments including piano, woodwinds and strings. Pre-formed ensembles are also welcome. Learn more about the Chamber Music Program.
Opera Workshop Auditions (15-minute slots)
Raise your voice in song in our Opera Workshop!
Singers should prepare two contrasting arias or excerpts for the audition.
Nashir! The Rottenberg Chorale Auditions (15-minute slots)
Sing Jewish music from around the world with the Rottenberg Chorale!
Vocalists should prepare one unaccompanied piece of any genre for the audition.
