Belmont Lake State Park
Southern State Parkway Exit 38
Join us for our second annual 5k event to raise awareness for our Cerebral Palsy Warriors.
Cerebral Palsy is a broad term that describes a range of muscle and movement disorders that can affect balance, coordination, mobility, posture, and more. There are more than 17 million people across the world living with cerebral palsy. Globally, cerebral palsy is a common motor disability in childhood, with a prevalence of at least 2 for every 1000 live births. Cerebral Palsy is a permanent, non-progressive condition. Every case of Cerebral Palsy is as unique as the person who has it.
This event is dedicated to Julianna Rose, who suffered two brain hemorrhages in utero (19 weeks and 25 weeks gestation) due to a rare blood disorder called Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia. She has been strong and fearless since she was born.
All are encouraged to run/walk the race alongside Julianna (who will be in her wheelchair) and enjoy the scenic trails of Belmont State Park in Babylon, NY. Children under 15 years of age are free and do not need to register. Pets are allowed (on a leash as per park policy). Registration closes on Oct. 18th.
All participants receive a T-shirt at check-in.
This is a self-timed fun run with a finish line clock.
