Capital Pride Rainbow 5k Run-Walk
Presented by the Pride Center of the Capital Region. The annual Pride Rainbow 5k (3.1 miles) Run-Walk is a fun family-friendly event with runners of all levels on the sanctioned Corning Preserve Course, start and finish at the Jennings Landing Amphitheater. Not a runner? Come and start after the main group of runners take off from the starting line and walking the course. We ask that you please stay right for those runners. Registration is online. Limited on-site registrations are available, Sunday May 5, 9:00 to 9:45 AM. The race starts at 10 am. The Family Fun Run will start 10:15am.
The out-and-back course starts and finishes at the north entrance of the Jennings Landing amphitheater on the Hudson River and is run entirely on the pavement of the Mohawk Hudson Bike Trail. The course proceeds north thru the Corning Preserve and the Boat Launch areas, continuing under the 1-90 Patroon Island bridge to the turnaround at exactly 2.5 km.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 2 participants in the identified gender categories, as well as the top 2 participants in the age brackets. Also, wear your funniest and/or best Rainbow pride gear. Awards will be available for the best gear and best use of “Rainbow.” All proceeds benefit the Pride Center of the Capital Region and our local programs and services.
