Charismatic and innovative, the Brazilian virtuoso multi-instrumentalist and composer Hugo Sanbone mixes jazz individualities and the aesthetics of Afro-Brazilian music that evolved in the city of Salvador of Bahia. The founder of Sanbone Pagode Orquestra (2009) came to prominence due to the fusion of classical music with the contagious percussion from Bahia. Sanbone and his collaborator, dancer Constance Nicolas Vellozzi, present Yemanjá Project, based on the African-Brazilian mythology of Yemanjá, a major water spirit and orisha from the Yoruba religion.
