SSCC holds Guinness World Record for World's Fastest Road Race
The fastest road race in the world is the Silver State Classic Challenge held on Nevada's Route 318, with a record average race speed of 353.48 km/h (219.6430 mph), achieved by Robert Allyn (driver, USA) and David Bauer (navigator, USA) during the 2017 Nevada Open Road Challenge on 21 May 2017.
Schedule of Events:
5:00 A.M: Hwy 318 closed to traffic from Lund to Hiko (no exceptions) - ALL course & finish line workers must pass this point prior to 5:00 A.M.
6:00 A.M: Caravan - Cars leave Broadbent Park for All In One Truck Stop (formerly Lane’s Truck Stop) for final preparations and staging - Fuel Available
8:00 A.M: Start of Event - Approx. Mile Post WP #9 (South of Lund)
4:00 P.M (apprx.): Hwy 318 RE-Opens to through traffic - Gather in the finish pits for Rookie Graduation - Travel back to ELY for the Awards Dinner
7:00 P.M: Awards Dinner - Bristlecone Convention Center in Ely - Presentation of Awards
