Diamond Kid

The 12th annual Diamond Kid Junior Triathlon and Kids and Wheelchair Races takes place in the quaint little village of Blue Diamond, Nevada, just 15 minutes west of Las Vegas, in beautiful Red Rock Canyon. The first junior triathlon of its kind, this event is designed to promote youth health and fitness and honor the valiant efforts of our youth athletes by providing a professionally computerized, real-time, timed event, including every amenity of an adult triathlon, such as individual timing for all 3 sports. Even transition times are recorded, as in elite adult triathlons. It is also beginner friendly and ADA friendly, with supporters cheering on the entire route and non-competitive, non-timed divisions, such as the parent-assist category, where parents can push kids on bikes and piggy-back them through the water as needed and the wheelchair category for all ages. Every athlete receives a medal and treats at the finish line and timed competitive division participants have a chance to race for trophies three deep in every gender and age group. This year we added two events for the aspiring younger athletes, the exciting Strider Mini Duathlon and Diaper Dash!

6:00 am, parking

6:30 am, check in, set up transition

7:30 am, mandatory athlete meeting

8:00 am, TRIATHLON starts 

followed by FUN RUN,WHEELCHAIR DUO TEAM RACE, MINI DUATHLON, DIAPER DASH
