Roswell Science and Art Festival
Roswell Convention and Civic Center
912 North Main Street
Join us for the fifth year of the Roswell Science and Art Festival, a free community event that aims to inspire the next generation of creative and innovative thinkers. The festival presents dozens of science and art experiences in and around the convention center for a full day of fun and learning for all ages. Activity areas include a Make Lab for hands-on art and STEM experiences, a Science Museum with demonstrations and displays, the outdoor Wonder Garden, a room dedicated to play-and-learn constructions called Buildopolis, and Tinker Tots with activities designed for younger visitors to the event. Next door at the Roswell Museum, the Robert H. Goddard Planetarium will be premiering a new full-dome show at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The theme for this year's festival is "land stewardship" and the many ways we care for, protect, utilize, and appreciate our land and waterways in New Mexico.
Dozens of local and regional museums, schools, colleges, state agencies, nonprofits and businesses make the event possible. Participating groups include Explora science center, New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs Wonder on Wheels mobile museum, the Miniatures and Curious Collections Museum, Sidney Gutierrez Middle School, New Mexico Military Institute, ENMU-R’s Aviation Maintenance Technology, Chaves County Cooperative Extension Service, Conquistador Council BSA (Boy Scouts of America), Keep Roswell Beautiful, Xcel Energy, Home Depot, Plateau, and many others.
