The 8 Best Skate Parks in New Jersey!
Skate parks remain a favorite hangout spot among young people. With a dedicated crowd in New Jersey, it is no wonder that there would be several great parks throughout the Garden State. Some of these parks are maintained by local skaters or are the result of grants and designed by companies such as Spohn Ranch to provide superior quality skate parks. The result of these efforts is a highly desired skate park for ambitious youth to practice their favorite pastime and hone their skills to grind a rail or perform a lip trick in the proper setting. Here are the 8 best in the state.
Holland Skate Plaza, Elizabeth, NJ
As part of redevelopment in Elizabeth, this even larger skate park welcomes skaters and bikers. It is also meant to be a plaza for community use so residents can hang out while skaters do their thing. The park provides rails and ledges easy for beginners without being an obvious skate park.
Evergreen Skatepark, Colonia, NJ
Built in Colonia, this modern and relatively new concrete skate park was inspired by the New York landscape, according to the design site. This skate park features a smooth run with bumps, pyramids, and rails as a part of the 10,000-quare-foot layout. Its diamond shape allows for continuous movement.
Cape May County Skatepark, Ocean City, NJ
This skate park was built in 2015 on 12,000 square-feet of land. It features a snake run along with two bowls and is accessible to any level of skater difficulty. Lights allow the park to remain open until the early evening.
Ann Van Middlesworth Skate Park, Hillsborough Township, NJ
As part of the larger park, this two-decade old park is a favorite for New Jersey skaters because of the obstacle variety and great quality. Anything from grind rails to ledges to ramps can be found throughout the park.
Maple Shade Skate Park, Maple Shade Township, NJ
This smaller skate park provides two bowls and is open to both skateboards and bikes. Helmets are absolutely required in this outdoor only park.
Clifton Skate Zone, Clifton, NJ
The Clifton Skate Zone provides a variety of sessions focused on skating, BMX, hockey, and others. Sessions can be paid for per day or for a membership fee and hours are available every day except Monday. Skateboards and safety equipment are available to rent.
Sea Isle City Skate Park, Sea Isle City, NJ
This skateboard-only park is free and outdoors. The metal and concrete park was a remodel of the outdated park and provides more challenging structures for skaters.
