New Jersey Theatre Alliance's Stages Festival
About The Stages Festival:
The Stages Festival is a state-wide spring festival of free and low-cost theatre events for all ages including performances, classes, workshops, and play readings. The Stages Festival is designed to showcase the diversity and excellence of New Jersey theatre, to break down barriers of cost and access, and to introduce new audiences to the work of our member theatres. From readings of new plays to touring children's shows, participatory workshops to community discussions, the Stages Festival offers something for everyone!
Stages Festival events are produced by our professional member theatres during the months of March, April, and May each year. Events may take place at the theatres, or out in the community at locations such as libraries, senior centers, outdoor venues, and more. New Jersey Theatre Alliance curates the offerings, promotes and markets the festival, and provides funding directly to member theatres to support and subsidize their events. In addition, the Alliance produces or co-produces Stages events including panel discussions, NJPAC Stage Exchange Play Readings, and Healing Voices: Caregivers’ Stories on Stage. The Stages Festival has reached over 230,000 audience members since its inception in 1997.
