Breaking Barriers 5K/Fun Run
Join us for the inspiring Breaking Barriers 5k, a community event dedicated to supporting students with disabilities and The Center School. On October 13th at 10am, Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, NJ will come alive with runners, walkers, and supporters united in a common cause. This race is more than just a 5k—it's a celebration of perseverance, inclusion, and the power of community. Every step taken and every dollar raised helps break down barriers faced by students with disabilities, providing them with vital resources and opportunities to thrive.
We invite everyone in the community to participate, whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or a passionate supporter. Lace up your shoes, bring your family and friends, and be part of this meaningful event. Together, we can create a more inclusive world and show our students that no barrier is too high to overcome. Your participation, whether through running, volunteering, or cheering from the sidelines, makes a real difference in the lives of these extraordinary young people. Join us as we run, walk, and break barriers—one step at a time!
Race check-in and on-site registration will begin at 9:00am on the morning of the race and the 5k will begin at 10:15. The one mile fun walk will commence shortly after at 10:25. Each participant who registers before 9/29 will receive a complementary race t-shirt that they should wear during the race (all others will receive theirs either on race day or shortly afterward). The top three finishers will also be awarded a victory medal! Light refreshments (water and snacks) will be available for before, during, and after the race.
