The beer is affordable, the atmosphere is comfortable, and you get to gather with your local community. The bartender is friendly and there’s always someone to keep you company at the bar. Neighborhood bars aren’t usually fancy, but they’re friendly, and sometimes at the end of a long day, that’s more important than anything else. Here are our favorites in New Hampshire.

Downtown Manchester has a variety of bars, but few are as friendly as McGarvey’s. Stop by for a bite to eat or simply to catch up on the local gossip. You’ll be glad you did.

Tandy’s Pub, Concord, NH
