Join us for an electric evening featuring live music with Jazzville, a screening of the film The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman’s Portrait Photography, special cocktails at the Museum’s Perspective Café, and our Discovering Art in Asheville public tour!

Live Music: Jazzville: Playing selections from the American Song Book that are timeless and flexible in their ability to withstand countless interpretations. This dynamic jazz quartet will ignite your imagination with its boundless and transformational creativity. Experience an emotionally engaging synchronization as Jazzville explores the relationship between dissonance and consonance. This musical offering is a celebration of individuality and collaboration.

Film: The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman’s Portrait Photography is a documentary that dives into the life and work of Elsa Dorfman, a renowned portrait photographer known for her large-format Polaroid images. Directed by Errol Morris, the film offers an intimate look at Dorfman’s artistic journey, her unique approach to capturing the essence of her subjects, and the challenges she faces as the world of photography evolves. Through personal anecdotes and a glimpse into her extensive archive, the documentary celebrates Dorfman’s dedication to her craft and her ability to preserve fleeting moments in time.
