A community favorite, this race has become a tradition for local runners and walkers. Come out and show your support for the North Carolina Blueberry Festival by participating in the 5K Blueberry Run & 1 Mile Walk. The race starts and ends in Historic Downtown Burgaw and provides runners a rare opportunity to enjoy the picturesque small town

This cycling event is a great way to connect with other riders across our city, our region and the world. It's also a great way to give back out our community! This year, Cape Fear Cyclists raised over $20,000! Proceeds are donated to Burgaw Middle School, the North Carolina Blueberry Festival Scholarship Program, the Hampstead Hams, and the Terry Benjey Bicycling Foundation.

-Fresh Local Blueberries and Flavors
Find fresh local blueberries and berry-flavored foods at the North Carolina Blueberry Festival! Farm fresh blueberries are provided by local farmers from Southeastern North Carolina counties including Pender, New Hanover, Sampson, Bladen, and Duplin. Bake sales by local churches and a variety of items from food vendors offer blueberry treats as well!
-NC Blueberry Farm Tours
We will be offering tours of the research farm located in Castle Hayne, NC led by researchers from NC State University! They will discuss the work they do to develop new blueberry varieties as well as the work being done to study and improve the health and nutritional value of blueberries, blueberry plant breeding, variety selection, pest management and harvest practices. After your tour, you'll come back to Burgaw, NC to enjoy the rest of the day at the 21st Annual NC Blueberry Festival.
