"Hidden Figures" is a movie based on the true story of three African-American women, Katherine Jonson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, who worked at NASA and served as the brains behind the launch into orbit of astronaut John Glenn. The women were known as "human computers" and were tasked with calculating the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and guaranteeing his safe return. The movie celebrates the incredible achievements of African-American women in NASA, inspiring future generations to pursue careers in STEM fields and defy societal expectations.
