First Day Hike Scavenger Hunt at William B. Umstead State Park

For First Day Hikes 2025, William B. Umstead is offering a self-guided scavenger hunt!

Stop by the Visitor Center to pick up the scavenger hunt sheet, choose your favorite trail at the park, and start exploring! After you complete the sheet, you can receive a special First day Hikes sticker. Our scavenger hunt is new and improved this year, with lots of fun facts and exciting things to find!

The Visitor Center is open from 8 am to 5 pm. Enter the park at 8801 Glenwood Ave and drive south for approximately one mile on Umstead Parkway. The Visitor Center will be on your right-hand side as you go around the curve in the road.
