Firework 5k
Welcome to the Firework 5k! This event will take place at the Badin Road Drive-in movie theater located at (2411 Badin Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001).
Lace-up your running shoes and join us for a morning of fitness and fun. We are going to try and beat the heat so the action starts with packet pick-up/ late registration at 7:15 am followed by the 5k run starting at 8:15 am.
In addition to the excitement of the race, there will be medals for the top 5 male and female runners, recognizing their outstanding performance. We also hope to provide as many racers with shirts as we possibly can so we urge you to sign up as soon as possible to guarantee you have the correct shirt size on race day, sign-ups after July 1, 2024 are not guaranteed a shirt.
The Firework 5k is not just any race – it's a chance to make a difference. We aim to raise money for a local high school senior track athlete, Joshawa Huneycutt, to help him attend the 2024 Adidas Outdoor Track Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina June 14th - June 16th, 2024. Participating in the Firework 5k will contribute to a brighter future for a hard-working young athlete.
