Veteran’s Day Ceremony at Missoula County Courthouse in front of the Doughboy Statue on Monday, November 11 with the American Legion Post 27 Color Guard, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 209 Honor Guard, Knights of Columbus Patriotic Order Color Guard, and Keynote Speaker U.S. Army Col. Gary Swartz, Retired. This service has been conducted at the Missoula County Courthouse since 1926 when the Doughboy Statue was dedicated by American Legion Post 27 to honor those who died in World War I. The names of veterans who died in World War I and II are listed on the monument. Master of Ceremonies will be Susan Campbell Reneau.
Please come and honor all veterans. Come in uniform or wear parts of your uniform or something to represent your branch of service.
Hot breakfast at American Legion Post 27 Hall, 825 Ronan Street in Missoula from 7 to 9 a.m. Donations accepted and encouraged. Donations used to help veterans in the Missoula community that this historic American Legion post support. Veterans and non-veterans are encouraged to attend. This post was established in 1919 in Missoula, months after the close of World War I.
