Memorial Day Murph at CrossFit Fringe
Memorial Day weekend is always a time of thankfulness, reflection, and fellowship. We aim to honor those that have served and given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
As we have for the last 15 years, we will be hosting the workout "Body Armor" in memory of Navy Lt. Michael Murphy on Monday, May 27th.
We have scheduled heats in PushPress starting from 7:00 am, with a new heat every 20 minutes, until the final heat at 9:40 am. To ensure you secure your preferred heat time, make sure to sign up early, as this benchmark Hero WOD always attracts a massive turnout.
In addition, this year we’re pairing “Murph” with our Summer Kick-Off Tie-Dye Party! Once you finish Murph, you can head downstairs where Coach
Colleen will lead groups through getting their tie-dye on in one of Fringes’ favorite times of the year!
In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it "Body Armor". Every year we complete this workout in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is. We complete a hero WOD every year to honor the fallen and pay tribute to our bravest Americans.
