Powderhorn Park
Powderhorn covers 68 acres of land including 12 acres of water. Powderhorn Recreation Center offers programs for all ages.
The park was named under the order of Major Plympton (based at Fort Snelling) and so-named because the contour of the lake in its original form and size resembled a powder horn. A powder horn is a flask made from the horn of a cow or ox that held gunpowder carried by soldiers.
