Gammelgarden Museum
Greetings from Gammelgarden Museum. We are pleased to begin our 34th year of "Preserving, Presenting, and Promoting Swedish Immigrant History." The year was 1972 when Wendell Johnson, Rev. J. O. Martin, Anna Engquist, Edith Olsen and others of Elim Lutheran Church began the dream of taking ownership of the old parsonage, barn, corncrib, and workshed to create what we now call the Gammelgarden Museum. Like the original immigrants who came to Scandia, it was a dream that propelled them. The dream of Gammelgarden continues tho' the form of the dream has undergone growth and change.
