Doppeleichen Vineyards
Doppeleichen Vineyards was established in 2000 with the purchase of 13 acres of picturesque Minnesota River Bluff property just outside of New Ulm, Minnesota. Doppeleichen is German for twin oaks. The name honors the German heritage of New Ulm and two oak trees that stand guard over the property.
Initial vineyard plantings were established in 2000. Minor expansions have occurred in the intervening years while we have been remodeling the century old farmhouse and assisting in the establishment of a vineyard near Gibbon, MN.
This was followed by fairly substantial planting in 2006 near the farmhouse. This expanded our potential production. Our initial commercial production was completed with the harvest in the fall of 2011. We have continued small lot production in the intervening years and began bottling in the spring of 2013.
