In recognition of Juneteenth and the spirit of “pulling together”, we invite you to join us for a Harambe Breakfast. Come and fill your plates and soul with scrumptious pancakes, sausage, and fellowship.

All are welcome to join the traditional Freedom March to open the Junteenth Celebration and provide spiritual covering for the festivities.

Play games and enjoy a balloon artist and face painting on the lawn of Gloria Coles Flint Public Library to kickstart your summer reading adventure!

Engage with the inspiring author, Leon El-Alamin, author of Tears Dry and Wounds Heal: The Story of My Life. Leon is the founder of the M.A.D.E. Institute, a transformative organization dedicated to helping formerly incarcerated individuals experience renewal. Located in the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library

Collaborate with the FIA and your fellow community members on an oversized paint by number, create your own chalk art with many emerging Flint artists, and enjoy making a meaningful Kuumba beaded bracelet to take home with you. Be sure to stop in the Hot Shop for a special glass blowing demonstration featuring the colors of freedom.

Enjoy live music and entertainment on the Longway Planetarium lawn, Headlined by Flint’s own Mama Soul and other talented artisits including the Eclipse Band, sponsored by Flint Instiutute of Music, and more! Dancing and celebration is encouraged!

Bouncehouses and other fun games and hands-on activities for kids!
