The Soul of Mary Wells, the true story of Mary Well’s rise to fame and her slide into a 25-year decline during her musical career. In 1960, 17-year-old Mary Wells approached Tamla Records (later Motown Records) founder, Berry Gordy, about a song she had written for Jackie Wilson. Mr. Gordy asked her to sing it to him. The rest is history.
