The Music of Argentina with Agustin “Astor” Echevarria
Hailing from the small town of Los Antiguos, in Patagonia, Agustin "Astor" Echevarria is well known in Argentina as an excellent performer of Argentine folk music. Astor will perform a range of genres -- rock, bossa nova, and folklore -- but will focus on tango, which is closest to his heart. His primary instrument is the keyboard and as a teen, he won a national championship at the folk festival in Cosquin, Argentina. Echevarria studied music under Violeta Hemsy de Gainza and has shared the stage with well-known Argentine artists such as Jaime Torres, Charly Garcia, and Javier Calamaro.
