GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (June 11, 2024) – Furthering its commitment to creating a community of inclusivity, Tanger Outlets Grand Rapids completed work on the center’s new TangerKids Sensory Garden last fall. As the summer season kicks off, the garden’s official ribbon cutting will take place on Thursday, June 20 from 1 – 3 p.m. offering guests light refreshments, a crafting station, face painting and much more.Tanger will include a special check donation to Hope Network’s Center for Autism, the local nonprofit partner Tanger worked with to design the space.
The TangerKids Sensory Garden delivers a memorable experience for all ages with plantings that are safe and non-toxic, paved walkways and elements that are accessible to all shoppers.
“We are thrilled to officially debut this inclusive new amenity at Tanger Grand Rapids after being closed for the winter months,” said Tanger Grand Rapids Marketing Director Ashli Lewis. “We could not have done it without the partnership of Hope Network’s Center for Autism, ensuring that the space was inviting and accessible for guests of all ages. We look forward to welcoming the community out to enjoy the garden this summer.”
Located near the Flag Court area in front of Under Armour and Adidas, the TangerKids Sensory Garden features different sections to visit and explore within a maze-like setting. Beautiful plants and other important features adorn the space and appeal to senses of sight, smell, touch and sound.
