River Days Festival
Celebrate summer! The Midland Area Community Foundation is proud to bring the Midland Area River Days Festival to Downtown Midland this August.
Schedule:
6:30 am - 8:00 am: Competitive hot air Balloon Flight (Weather pending)
Balloons launch from various parts of the City and fly to Chippewassee Park, attempting to hit targets. Multiple targets will be in play for pilots to test their skills.
10:00 am - 3:00 pm: Kids Zone Art and Activities
Near the Tridge, Downtown Side-Activities such as coloring, woodworking kits, Lego building, nature crafts, chemistry experiments, etc.
10:00 am - 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: main stage Features (facilitated by the Midland area cultural awareness coalition)
10:00 am - 10:45 am: Yoga for All with Sarah Nelson
11:00 am - 11:45 am: Tim Neumeyer
1:00 pm - 1:45 pm: Teenage Musical Incorporated
2:00 pm - 2:45 pm: Sangeeta’s Dance and Music of India
10:00 am - 4:00 pm: Kayaking with Nor’East Outdoors

Near the Bob Johns Main Stage - Paddle a 29-foot replica Voyageur canoe on the Tittabawassee and Chippewa Rivers. This free event is led by the Chippewa Nature Center
12:00 pm: Taco eating Contest with Proper taco

12:00 pm - 8:00 pm: ZipLine, Bungee Jumper, and Pirates Revenge
Near the Bob Johns River Days Stage - Free activities. The Bungee Jumper is sponsored by the Midland Area Youth Action Council. Weight restrictions apply
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm: River Days Unplugged by Midland Area Youth Action Council - CarMust (2 pm) and Jocks and Jandals (3 pm)

Chippewassee Park - Experience the balloons as they make Chippewassee Park “glow” with their burners. The balloons will not take flight during this event.
