Oakland County Fair
History
Established in 1830.
The Oakland County Fair is one of the oldest fairs in the nation, tracing its roots back to the Oakland Agricultural Society founded in 1830. Over the years the Oakland County Fair has been held on several different locations beginning with the 1850 fair in Pontiac. The fair was held in Milford from 1880 until 1949. There is some overlap as the Michigan Agricultural Society had yearly fairs in Pontiac from 1936 until 1971. The fair moved from its Pontiac location to its current site at Springfield Oaks, a county park in Davisburg in 1972.
The Oakland County Fair strives to maintain a link to our county's agricultural heritage by creating educational, social, and economic opportunities for all children and adults to demonstrate our heritage. The Oakland County Fair provides a valuable educational and entertaining experience for all those who attend and/or participate.
