The convergence of water and sky has always inspired deep cultural and philosophical reflections. Its ever-changing nature reflects the shifting moods of the atmosphere and serves as a constant reminder of the passage of time—visual testimony that change is one of the few constants in life. The sky can shift from a bright blue to a stormy gray within moments, just as water can transition from calm to tumultuous.

These images of water and sky were captured over a period of many years. The water is provided by Lakes Michigan and Superior.  Some of these scenes, perhaps especially the sunsets, may be thought of as a cliché, but they are clichés for a reason. They all epitomize fleeting moments of inspiration, beauty, and appreciation.
