The Howell Melon Festival turns 64 this year, but 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the Howell Melon, the delicious local treat that started it all.

9:00am - 4:00pm: Friends Of The Library Melon Festival Booksale
Most Hardcovers Are $1.00, Most Paperbacks Are Only $.50, And All Children's Books Are Only $.25. Special Pricing On Current Books.
A Friends Of The Howell Carnegie District Library Event. Proceeds Go Directly To Support Howell Carnegie District Library Programs And Events.

3:00pm - 9:00pm: Art At The Opera House - Fine Arts Show
The Livingston Arts Council Invites You To Come And Enjoy Our 18th Annual Fine Arts Show. This Show Is Held During The Howell Melon Festival On The First Floor Of The Howell Opera House With All The Artists Present To Discuss Their Work And Answer Questions. There Will Be Painting, Jewelry, Digital Prints, Photography And More, With All The Displayed Art Available For Purchase. We Also Have A Kids “Make-And-Take” Art Table And A Community Murals For The Whole Family To Contribute To. So Come In, Walk Through, And Find Your New Favorite Piece Of Art.

The Fun Never Stops In The Howell Melon Festival Tent. We'll Be Serving Up Cold Beer, Local Wines And Delicious Food.Free Admission Into The Tent All Weekend Long And All Ages Are Welcome Until 9:00pm. Drink Tickets Are Cash Only.
Alcoholic Beverages Will Only Be Served Thursday-Sunday. You Must Be 21 Or Older With A Valid Id To Enter The Tent After 9pm.

6:00pm - 6:15pm: Kids Melon Roll Ages 2-5
Join Us In The Howell Tradition. Kids Ages 2-5 Will Roll Their Howell Melon From The Starting Line To The Finish Line. All Participants Will Get A Howell Melon They Can Keep. This Event Is Limited To 50 Spots. Sign Up In Advance To Reserve Yours.

Registrations On Or Before 7/25/24 Are Guaranteed A Short Sleeve Race Shirt. Registrations After That Date Will Not Receive A Shirt. Any Leftover Shirts Will Be Available For Purchase Starting One Week After The Race Is Complete For $20 Each.

Howell Recreation And Presenting Sponsor Chemtrend Proudly Present The 47th Annual Howell Melon Run We Welcome Runners, Walkers, And Those Racing In Wheelchairs And Other Assistive Deviceson August 16, 2024, Events Begin At 6 Pm In Beautiful Downtown Howell.
This Year's Race Will Feature Classic Events For The Whole Family Such As The Melon Roll, The One In A Melon Mile, The Mascot Dash, And The Fan Favorite Howell Melon Run 5k.
