Hayes State Park

Hayes State Park is located on Wamplers Lake in the heart of the Irish Hills. The entrance to the park is located on US-12, just 9 miles west of Clinton and 4 miles east of M-50. M-124 cuts directly through the middle of the park.

Activities:

Boat Rental:
There are boat rentals available at the concession stand (located in the beach house), including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, paddle boats and floats. In addtion, the campground office offers boat rentals (kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards and a row boat) to campers only,

Cross Country Ski: While there are no established groomed trails, the park is open to cross-county skiing and snowshoeing.

Fishing:
Anglers can find bluegill, sunfish, crappie, pike, muskie, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass in Wampler's Lake. During the winter, ice fishing is a popular activity.

Hiking: There are hiking trails located within the campground and footpaths located in the day-use area.

Paddling: Wamplers Lake is a recreational lake open to paddling. In addition, there are boat rentals located at the beach house and camprground office (campers only).

Swimming: There is a large swimming beach located on Wamplers Lake.

Watchable Wildlife: There are areas that are conducive to observing whitetail deer and bird migrations.

Picnic Area: Picnic tables and fire pits/grills are located in the day-use area.

Playground: There are two playgrounds located in the day-use area, as well as a playground located in the front loop of the campground.
