Caleb Wheeler Curtis Trio - Raise Four: Monk the Minimalist

Ann Arbor native, CHS alum, and long time NYC resident, multi-instrumentalist Caleb Wheeler Curtis leads an all-star trio through a collection of lesser known songs by Thelonious Monk. These songs make up the 2nd disc of Caleb’s brand new 2024 Imani Records double album “The True Story of Bears and the Invention of the Battery”, and together highlight the minimalist nature of many of Monk’s compositions. Caleb plays the stritch, an unusual member of the saxophone family made famous by Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and trumpet.
