The Cole Land Transportation Museum once again welcomes you to attend their annual Memorial Day service. This event will begin with a picnic at 11 AM with food available for sale by the Courageous Steps Project. Then, at noon, a short concert by the Alumni Jazz Band will fill your ears with patriotic favorites. The official ceremony will start at 12:30 PM with a Color Guard presentation by the Hermon JROTC. Brigadier General Diane Dunn will be honoring us as our guest speaker. The service will conclude with a special wreath laying at each of the four memorials at the Museum.
The Museum grounds will also be home to over 3,000 flags covering the grass areas surrounding the memorials, each flag representing a military member from Maine killed during WWII, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War. These flags will be available for public viewing for the entire weekend.
In addition to the Memorial Day Service, the Museum will be free of charge for the entire day on Monday, May 27th.
We hope you will join us in honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
