Part of Fireflies, a family-friendly film series.
After losing his parents to a tragic rhinoceros accident, James Henry Trotter is sent to live with his two cruel aunts, Spiker and Sponge. James feels utterly alone in the world—until a mysterious man gifts James a bag of “magic crocodile tongues,” which he promises can grow anything they touch. When spilling the tongues results in the growth of a giant peach in his aunts’ peach tree, James eats his way inside and meets the bugs—who have also experienced a magical growth spurt—that live inside. Having always dreamed of visiting the Empire State Building, James sets off on an intercontinental adventure with his new friends and their overly-sized fruit. Blending claymation with live action, James and the Giant Peach, based on the book by Roald Dahl, is a touching classic tale about overcoming fears and finding family, even if they’re a bunch of oversized insects.
