Film: Anora

From director Sean Baker (The Florida Project, Red Rocket, Tangerine) comes Anora, a raucously comedic Cinderella story set in Brooklyn. The Cinderella in this story is Anora (Mikey Madison, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), a sex worker satisfied with her career. When she meets Ivan, the son of a Russian oligarch, she quickly finds herself whirled into a lavish relationship full of expensive gifts and fancy parties that culminates in a marriage that surprises not only Anora, but Ivan’s family as well. Seeking to annul the marriage as quickly as possible, Ivan’s father enlists local priest Toros and his goons Garnick and Igor to split the newlyweds for good.
