1.Mount Katahdin, Baxter State Park, ME
Celebrate Earth Day and the incredible beauty of Maine by hiking Maine’s tallest mountain. Mount Katahdin stands at 5,267 feet and is the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Put on your hiking boots and say your thanks to Mother Earth from the top of this granite peak.
2.Watch the Sunrise on Cadillac Mountain
With an elevation of 1,528 feet, Cadillac Mountain is the tallest coastal mountain on the Eastern seaboard. For most of the year you can be the first person in the United States to see the sunrise. Hike or drive up to the top of the mountain with a thermos of coffee and enjoy the beautiful sunrise.
3.Earth Day at the Children’s Museum, Portland, ME

Celebrate Earth Day by signing up for a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm share. Spend the day relaxing on the beach. You probably won’t want to go swimming, but bring a picnic basket and relax at the beach.
