Capriccio Festival of Kites

24th Annual Capriccio Festival of Kites

A celebration of kite flying on the beach, for adults, children and professionals.

In this annual celebration, kite making and kite flying activities will begin at 9 am.

Professional kite flying demonstrations, with huge, multi-dimensional kites, are an all-day feature of the festival.

Children are also offered an opportunity to design their own kites, and to enter them into a contest with a multitude of categories in order for many prizes to be awarded. Kites can also be purchased at the beach so that everyone can participate.

The finale, scheduled for noon, is the “Grand Ascension,” where the sky is filled with all of the day’s kites. Bring your cameras! It’s a spectacular sight.

The Capriccio Festival of Kites is presented by Cricket’s Corner Beach and Toy, Ogunquit Performing Arts, Ogunquit Rotary Club, Kennebunk Savings Bank, That Place in Ogunquit, and the Town of Ogunquit.  Further information about this event will be posted soon.
