Kick Off To Derby Day

A 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk/Run to kick off Derby Day!  Individuals and Groups (Coed) may sign up!  The race is June 29th, the weekend before the Frostburg Elks Derby Day. The race will begin at 9:00 am and registration will begin at 7:30 am. The race will consist of an out and back on the GAP trail. The mile walk/run will begin 5 minutes after the 5K has started. Registration will be $25 for adults and $20 for children. Day of registration will be available for $30. Awards will be given to individuals per age and gender and group entries will win based on the lowest average 5k time.

PARKING!  There is only limited parking available by the Trail Head and the Thrasher Carriage museum, which is priority for volunteers, Handicap, and families with small kids.  We are asking participants to park behind the Elks where the after-party is (126 E Main St, Frostburg, MD 21532) and a shuttle will run beginning at 7:45 am every 15 minutes. You can also park at Fat Boys Pizza or behind St. Michael's Church and walk down to the trail.  And you may drop off participants at the depot as well! 

The race will start at the bottom of the switchbacks and run West half the distance out and then back.  Gradual incline up with a decline to the finish!  Money from race will go to Queen City Striders for new timing equipment and Raffle money at the after party to Special Olympics!
