Hopkins Farm Brewery
It all started at the end of a long working day on the farm. This is a peaceful time as the sun sets in the western sky; the gentle evening breeze stirs the fields of crops. This is a time to relax with a beer and laugh with family and friends who drop by the farm. We have a beautiful property here in Harford County, Maryland. The barley crop is good, the malting is going well, Aaron is always thinking about another great beer recipe. Wouldn't it be great if we could share all this with our friends?
So, the ideas and plans started to take shape. What if we built a brewery right here on the farm? It will be as special as we can make it out of respect for this beautiful farm land we call home. We'll set it up so we can watch the sunset in the west every evening. We'll call it Hopkins Farm Brewery.
We have built this brewery to keep the Hopkins' farming legacy going into its second century. That's right, Hopkins have been farming this ground since the 1920's. Over the past 100 years, Hopkins have been milking cows, growing tomatoes, milking more cows, growing corn, soybeans, more tomatoes, and of course, barley. For the past 30 years, Hopkins Produce lays claim to the best sweet corn in Harford County, actually the East Coast, maybe even the world and it is always grown right here! We're now experimenting with growing hops. Look around our tap room and you will see reclaimed barn-wood and stone from this farm. If walls could talk, they would tell stories of hard work, good times, and strong family spirit. We invite you to come share a beer with us and celebrate being part of it all!
