Heritage Days Festival
Various Venues in Cumberland, MD
2 PM - Lulu’s Fate - Main Stage
Lulu’s Fate from the Washington DC area performs a mix of music from the Appalachian, southern string band and country blues traditions, plus plus early swing, gospel, original tunes and covers ranging from Hank Williams to Tom Waits.
Tom Espinola, Kristen Jones and Kara Boling were big hits at the Gatsby Gala this Spring and we can’t wait for Heritage Days to present them on the Main Stage at 2 PM on Saturday, September 14th.
The MacMillan United Pipe Band
This international award winning bagpipe band will be at the Heritage Days Festival on Saturday, September 14 with a full day of traditional Scottish music.
Thanks to a new partnership with the Cumberland Masonic Temple, these Maryland-based musicians will hold an 11 AM Classic Traditions concert at the Masonic Temple.
At 12:30 they’ll march through Prospect Square pausing for soloists including world class piper Andrew Donlon to perform on our Main Stage.
Then, they march to Gordon Roberts House where they will be part of Backstage History and teach the basics of bagpipe (with apologies to the parents involved LOL).
Their day in Cumberland will conclude with a march back through Prospect Square before Generals Washington and Morgan review the troops beginning around 3 PM.
