The wheels on the tractor go round and round all the way to Artworks@7th Gallery. This month the theme is “Down on the Farm”! Artworks@7th Gallery artists will explore the American tradition of farming through acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, photography and ceramic. Farms are an artist’s delight with the varied animals, outbuildings, and farm equipment. Their fields and fences present a perspective that draws the eye far and wide across the Southern Maryland landscape. Among others, you’ll see Davy Strong’s “Making Hay” and Ray Saunder’s “Calvert Barn in Winter”. Do not miss this opportunity to experience the farming culture.

Also, this month our guest artist is Cynthia Martin-Brennan. Ms. Martin-Brennan is based in Leonardtown, MD and has been taking photographs since the 1990’s including her travel to many international locations such as South Africa, Russia, Japan, and Europe.Combining her skills in oil painting, drawing, colored pencils, and photography she aspires to create a mixed medium that utilizes color with acrylics, embraces the subtlety of oils, all layered upon the foundation of her black and white photographs.

In addition to our guest artist, we welcome a new artist, Katie Brinkley. Katie works in acrylics and mixed media. We are happy to add her unique style and artistic expression to our gallery. Welcome Katie!

Spring is in the air and on the farms! Please join us at Artworks@7th Gallery on April 6, 2024 from 1 - 4 for our public reception. Mingle with the artists and enjoy both art and light refreshments. Bring your friends and family. Children are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Money spent locally stays in the local economy and continues to strengthen the economic base of the entire community. Small local businesses make indispensable contributions to communities and neighborhoods. Supporting local artists allows them the opportunity to continue to serve their communities. You will often see members of Artworks@7th supporting local charities and organizations by participating in art shows, teaching workshops, and donating items for fundraisers.
