Exhibition - All That Jazz
Friday, September 06, 2024 from 11:00am to 06:00pm
Artworks at 7th Gallery
8905 Chesapeake Avenue (at 2nd St.)
This month the Artworks@7th Gallery, located in North Beach is inspired by the musical Chicago and its lyrics from the hit song “And All That Jazz”.
“Five, six, seven, eight. Come on babe, why don’t we paint the town? And all that jazz.”
The artist trio of Maria Birnkammer, Nico Gozal, and Elaine Strong are pleased to share their jazzy creativity through their show, “All That Jazz.” Colorful, syncopated, and funky describe Maria’s acrylic pieces, while Elaine’s acrylic paintings express her intuitive connection to nature and our local beats. Nico’s pottery successfully blends curves with edges and then pops them with the perfect harmony of color. This is music for the eyes. This is jazz. This is a jazz trio you cannot miss.
Please join us for an opening reception on September 7, 2024, 1 to 4pm, for the free open to the public reception. Mingle with the artists and enjoy art, live music, and light refreshments. Bring your friends and family.
The guest artist for this month is Carol Pheobus. After retiring, Carol embarked on a remarkable journey to reignite her artistic passions. Her creative adventure began over 20 years ago, when she first encountered the pottery wheel. Instantly captivated by the tactile allure of clay, Carol discovered a profound love for its malleable possibilities. Since that moment, she has explored various facets of pottery, from wheel-throwing to the dynamic art of slab building. Her dedication to the craft has blossomed into a deep, fulfilling practice. The flexibility and expansive nature of slab building have particularly resonated with her, allowing her to create intricate and expressive pieces.
Money spent locally stays in the local economy and continues to strengthen the economic base of the entire community.
