Community Memorial Day Observance

Held Rain or Shine.*

A celebration to honor the men and women of our community who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.

Schedule of Events

1:45 p.m. - Walk to Pleasant Valley Cemetery

For those who want to participate in the walk, group will leave St. Matthew’s United Church of Christ’s parking lot, 1427 Pleasant Valley Rd, Westminster, MD 21158, at 1:45 p.m. for ½ mile walk to cemetery accompanied by fire department vehicles.

2:00 p.m. - Service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery (Bring a lawn chair) Placement of flags on veteran graves.

Guest Speaker: Commissioner Joseph Vigliotti, Carroll County -District 1

* In case of extreme inclement weather, the service will be held at St. Matthew's United Church of Christ in Pleasant Valley. Following the service, placing of flags at the cemetery will be done by those who wish to volunteer. A decision on whether to move service indoors will be made by 11:00am on Sunday. If service is moved indoors it will be posted on our Facebook page.
